This Pat Canavan rock masterpiece pays homage to Canadian painter Ken Kirkby and his painting Isumataq. It features Alar Pahapill on drums, Bill Scholte on bass and Dave Skrabec on Guitar for the first part of the song pulling off an impressive progressive rock song. This is also the first time we played together as a group. Then the end passage of the song features Gary Lalonde on fretless bass and Jan Anton on acoustic guitar.

Lyrics

Isumataq

I like the wind
Breath inside your mind to cause a spark
To start you on your way to bigger things

And I fuel desire like a dancing fire pure and passionate
I stir the soul to yearning to create
A subtle possession
The web is spun until the deed is done

I’ll paint you a picture
Make it larger than life
I’ll paint you a picture
Shades of darkness and light

Let the canvas be
The world you see through my eyes
I’ll paint you a picture, I’ll paint you a picture
I’ll paint you a picture

Ahh ahh ahh.

The dream the reality, The dream the reality
The dream the reality, The dream The dream

Solo

The dream the reality, The dream the reality
The dream the reality, The dream The dream

Here am I for all the world to see
From one man’s imagination
In a struggle to be free
How much was lost
How much regained
To measure the cost
There is no way
And Isumataq – Isumataq

Do you dare to dream? test reality?
And Isumataq – Isumataq
From the tiniest brush stroke
Comes the greatest belief
A show of strength
